About Baseline Robotics

Open source revolutionised how we write software, but its impact on robotics stays limited due to expensive hardware accessible only to well-funded labs. We run that hardware as shared infrastructure for the broader community, billed only for active station time. For a given task, policies are evaluated under similar conditions, giving researchers common ground for fair comparisons.

About the role

We welcome inquiries from ETH Zurich students interested in paid working student opportunities in robotics. Use this spontaneous application to describe your research interests, relevant project work, and weekly availability of up to 15 hours during the semester. We assess each inquiry individually and agree on any role’s scope, schedule, and pay before employment begins.

In this role you will

• Evaluate and post-train robot policies on physical hardware.
• Pick an area such as world models, reinforcement learning, control, data, or tooling.
• Agree the scope of the role with us, based on what you do best.

What we hope you’ll bring

• Experience publishing research or building systems in robotics, machine learning, or infrastructure.
• Experience taking a project to a measured result on real hardware.
• Experience running reproducible experiments.
